With reference to your interview on the 31st July with a mmbér of this Department, regarding your letter of the 26th March to the Head of the Sanitary Department Hong Kong, I am directed by Viscount Milner to inform you that no communication has been received from Hong Kong in this connection. In the event, however, of any new privileges in respect of pate of pay and leave of absence being sanctioned to which you were entitled, you would
benefit by them in due course.
2. Lord Kilner regrets that in view of the present congestim of cables he does not see his way to telegraphing as you request: but a copy of the letter which you left in this benartment is being sent to the Officer Administering the Goverment
for his observatione.
